In order to establish a base of geological surveys and geological safety assessment review mechanism, this project collect and integration analysis relevant laws of Geology Act, geologically sensitive area to figure out the relationship between Environmental Impact Assessment act and Geology Act. This project also organized 3 expert workshops and formulated responses to public suggestions regarding modifications to the review operations of environmental impact assessment. The main accomplishments of the present study are as follows: (1) Organized 3 expert workshops and formulated responses to public suggestions regarding modifications to the review operations of environmental impact assessment. (2) Establish review operation mechanism of environmental impact assessment. (3) Finish 65 review assistances of geological surveys and geological safety assessment. The results will aid the planning of future directions of review operations of environmental impact assessment; recommend necessary modifications to the EIA laws and related Geology Act, and help coordinate resources of all relevant ministries and local governments in order to establish their own review operations.
